OPAL Community Land Trust
New Rental Housing on Orcas Island
Ally Community Development has been assisting OPAL Community Land Trust with financing support and feasibility analysis for a new rental project on Orcas Island. This project will provide approximately 30 units of housing for residents with low and moderate incomes, near the Eastsound business district and within walking distance to schools, community facilities, and other neighborhood serving uses. This project is possible through the strong partnerships OPAL has formed with Orcas Island landowners and supporters of the organization’s mission. Enterprise Community Partners has provided a capacity building grant to assist with project development, and OPAL is currently pursuing capital financing from state and local sources.
